Product Care

All products at Sunita Nahata Fine Design are made with high quality, durable materials, from precious metals to chains, set with natural diamonds and gemstones.

Diamonds

Even though diamonds are one of the hardest natural substance found on earth, they too need to be handled with care. We recommend using a toothbrush and scrubbing lightly with warm soapy water, to keep your diamonds shining bright forever.

Gold

Solid Gold is one of the precious metals that will not oxidize or discolor, since it is the least reactive metal. However due to the softness of gold, we have chosen to use 18k alloy as this keeps our gold ratio as pure as possible while still making sure our jewelry is durable and does not wear out as easily.

Gemstones

All of our gemstones are natural mineral stones that are highly valued for their beauty, rarity and durability. We use an array of precious and semi-precious stones, from the big three (Ruby, Sapphires, & Emeralds) to Quartz (Rosey, Smoky, Citrine). Precious or semi-precious, colour is essentially the most important factor to the beauty of our gemstones and therefore, needs to be taken care of. As each gemstone varies in it’s strength of durability & stability to heat and chemicals, we suggest you avoid using any harsh chemicals or heat with our products. The best method of care would be to use a toothbrush and scrub lightly with warm soapy water, to keep the beauty of your gemstones in tact.

Note! Be careful with Emeralds & Watermelon/Paraiba tourmaline as these gemstones are type 3 meaning they are usually included & fractured, therefore will be more sensitive to heat & chemicals.

Also note that for Opals, loss of moisture and crazing, can result from storage in airtight containers, such as safety deposit box.

Freshwater Pearls

We use cultured pearls from oysters and freshwater mussels. Pearls are sensitive in nature, so don’t forget they need special care and attention in order to maintain their beauty. We recommend you wipe your cultured pearls with a very soft clean cloth after each wear. Also with pearls, avoid direct contact with chemicals found in perfume or other cosmetics.
